Please read all instructions within the candidate portal and throughout this process very carefully. Attention to detail is one of the key attributes we look for in a successful candidate. Incomplete, inaccurate, or hastily completed applications may negatively impact your candidacy.
Every Section Needs a Green Tick
Each section of your application must show a green tick (✓) to be considered complete. If you do not see a green tick, there is something you still need to do in that section. Even if a section does not apply to you — for example, if you have no social media accounts — you must still tick the confirmation box within that section to mark it as done. Your application cannot be submitted until every section shows a green tick.

✅ Eligibility
Before you begin, please ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Membership: You must be a current, paid-up member of Advance UK.
- Age: You must be at least 18 years old on polling day.
- Residency: You should be a UK resident or a qualifying Commonwealth citizen.
- Commitment: You should be prepared to dedicate significant time and energy to campaigning and, if elected, serving your community.
Create Your Account
Register on this portal using your email address. You will receive a verification link to confirm your identity. Make sure to use the same email associated with your Advance UK membership.
Complete Your Profile
Fill in your personal details, including your contact information, background, and the constituency or ward you are interested in contesting. Accuracy is important — this information is used during the vetting process.
Upload Supporting Documents
You will need to provide:
Submit Your Application
Review all sections carefully before submitting. Once submitted, your application will move to the vetting stage and you will not be able to make further edits unless requested by the vetting team.
Vetting & Approval
All applications go through a thorough vetting process. This includes:
- Background checks and reference verification
- Review of your public social media presence
- An interview (in person or via video call)
You will be notified of the outcome by email. If further information is required, you will be contacted directly through the portal.
